Ooops, I Did It Again

I know I said I wouldn't but seriously, look at this kit. Just look at it. It's freaking beautiful. And it had to be mine. Ali + Kelsey + Two New Classes

I'm all about classes around here. Learning new techniques + seeing how others think creatively is a win-win situation for me.

Ali Edwards has a new course that's enrolling now through October 12th called Hybrid. It's a mix of traditional and digital scrapbooking. I'm pretty handy with Photoshop Elements but there's so much more that I could learn. And I'm down with that.

The class runs 4 weeks with three new content downloads added each week. It also comes with a complete digital package of overlays, brushes and journal cards.

If you're more on the newer side of scrapbooking, especially with pocket pages, you definitely need to check out Kelsey's new class, Hello Life XO. I've been ~~stalking~~ following Kelsey for a while now and love her clean designs and use of color. And she's not afraid to tell it like it is. (With the occasional NSFW language, for the win.) Seriously, that woman is my spirit animal. You can pre-register for her class, which starts December 1st.

101 Update: The Album

I wanted some way to document my 101 List other than just online. Originally I thought about doing a photo book from Blurb but wanted to be able to work on something over time. The 101 project is over two and a half years and you can learn more about it and see my other posts here.

I decided to go ahead and use a We R Memory Keepers 6x12 album in brown. I am able to document each of my goals as I check them off and those that are in process, such as my movie goal. In Photoshop, I made a grid and added .jpegs of movie posters I found online. I was able to print them out and slide them right into the pockets. Whenever I went to the movies, I made sure to keep the stubs and added them to the album when I got home. The plan was to print out a single movie poster, instead of the collage if I had the stub. As you can see, I have some catching up to do.

Sad to say the last movie Rick and I went to was back in January! We need a movie date stat!

Another goal on my list was to go on a tour of a brewery. Enter Sam Adams. The label at the top is actually your ticket to get in. Made sure to save that. After the tour I checked out the gift shop and picked up these oval stickers of the different varieties of Sam Adams beer. I colored matched them to a PL card, printed some photos and into the pocket they went.

The start of my book list. Another thing that needs to be updated. I'll probably use Photoshop to make another grid for the top and bottom pockets.

Number 29 on my list was to attend a Red Sox game, which I was able to do twice. The top and bottom cards are a panoramic that I cut in half and added some Thickers to. I used my red Staedtler pen to color them in.

For the back side I included a coaster from the bar I visited prior to the game and cut & adhered a portion of the ticket. I also included my MBTA commuter rail tickets as well.

I'm still not sure if I'll add the corresponding goal numbers to each. Might add a list of the 101 goals at the beginning, maybe with a velum flyleaf. And as long as I still have room in the album, I'll be adding my next 101 list to this one as well.

Jen's Picks: Scrapbooking Supplies

Hi all! Thought I would share some of my go to scrapbooking products. Granted these are just a sample of the stuff I use on the regular.

Tim Holtz's Tiny Attacher

I use this little guy for everything! And it's the perfect size to bring along when you're traveling.

Enamel Dots (here, here & here)

If there's one product that I think I use too much, it's enamel dots. I just can't help it!

American Crafts 4x4 albums

4x4 albums are my jam. They're perfect for minis, travel, movie stubs, pet albums and more.

Washi Tape (here, here, here, here and here)

Oh, washi. How I love thee. I tend to use my washi way more in my planners but do find myself reaching for them for color accents when I scrap. And hello? Who doesn't want flamingo/swan/dolphin washi tape?

American Crafts 6x12 albums

I swapped over from 12x12 to 6x12 albums for my Project Life this year. It's been a HUGE stress reducer for me because I have less pockets to fill each week. I don't feel like I need to come up with extra content to fill the larger sizes.

Thermoweb Zots

Another handy thing I take with me when I travel. That way I don't have to mess with glue sticks or wait for adhesive to dry. I can stick it and done.

Page Protectors

These We R Memory Keepers 6x12 page protectors correspond with their albums. I use my Fuse tool to create new pockets or seal the ones I don't want stuff sliding out of.

SEA Book Prep

I visited Seattle & the Olympic Peninsula in May of 2014. Twenty eight months ago folks, and I STILL haven't even started on an album. Seriously. I know. Initially I had planned on a 4 x 4 mini but after going through my travel stash there was just too much stuff I didn't want to cut down. I was at Michael's a few weeks ago and came across a white canvas 6 x 8 album by Recollections. (Haven't been able to find it ~~on their website anywhere~~ anywhere.)

At first I walked right past it, thinking it wouldn't exactly work for what I wanted. After not really finding anything, I picked it up and started flipping through it. Because of the plain Jane white canvas, I wasn't expecting much but the inside is filled with 52 pages of goodness!

There are four clear 6 x 8 dividers. I wish there were a few more because then I could use them to divide the days. Oh well.

The album also includes forty pages of a very light smooth kraft paper. I think I might try designing some stuff in Photoshop to print directly onto the paper. I'll also be using them to adhere photos to.

There are four black pocket pages to store travel ephemera in.

As well as four kraft envelopes.

I'm super excited to get started and might have to go back and pick up some more albums as I think these will be perfect for travel albums. I'll be uploading my photos to Persnickety Prints rather than print them at home and plan on using a variety of sizes (4x6, 5x7, 4x4, 5x5) Expect a SEA book post when it's done!

December Daily 2016

It's here! It's finally here!

It feels weird to be thinking about December when it's been in the 80's here lately. But enough of that. Bring on the December Daily goodness!

The ordering process was supposed to go live at 11:00 EST, but of course, all of us DD fanatics crashed the site for a good solid half hour. Once I was able to get in, I went ahead and chose the 2016 main kit with the gold dot 6x8 album.

As of now, I'm still trying to pick up some extras. Like the 3x8 page protectors and maybe some of the stamp sets. I knew everyone was going to be after the main kit so I wanted to at least snag one of those.
